The first trimester was a little rough on the three of us (Frank will definitely agree with this statement)! I was extremely tired, nauseous, and "emotional" the entire time. I also got a bit of a skin condition which lasted about 8 weeks. It's called Pityriasis Rosea. It was UGLY and ITCHY, but we're finally all cleared up! It's like a little switch was flipped. About a month ago, I started feeling great! I have my energy back, I am no longer sick, I don't look like I am contagious, and most importantly...I am in a FANTASTIC mood (most of the time).
We are now 18 weeks along. We have an appointment next Friday (1/29/10) for our 20 week sonogram, where we will also find out the gender of baby! I PROMISE to update the blog with the sonogram pics, as well as the "big reveal". We would LOVE to hear what everyone thinks we're having! My two-year-old nephew is convinced it's a girl...he's already picking out frilly swimsuits for baby :)
One of the fun things that we just started doing is using the BabyPlus. Our WONDERFUL (and EXTREMELY generous) friend, Randi, and her precious new little baby, Cash, lent it to us, and we are SO grateful! It's so much fun, and I am hoping that baby will start moving a lot in response to it. For those of you who don't know what the BabyPlus is, here is the description, per their website:
What Is It?
The BabyPlus curriculum is a series of 16 naturally derived sounds that resemble a mother's heartbeat. The rhythm of the sounds increases incrementally as the pregnancy progresses. The BabyPlus sonic pattern introduces your child to a sequential learning process, built upon the natural rhythms of their own environment.
This "auditory exercise" strengthens learning ability during the developmental period when the advantages will be most significant and enduring for a child. BabyPlus is the first educational tool designed for prenatal use that has been proven effective. BabyPlus children have an intellectual, developmental, creative, and emotional advantage from the time they are born.
The BabyPlus lessons are designed to be played for one hour, twice a day. For optimal benefits, start using BabyPlus anytime between 18-32 weeks of pregnancy.
Here are some 18 week pictures, taken this morning:
That is the cutest baby belly ever! I will put $10 down that it's a boy. Elliott will put $1 down for a girl!
ReplyDeleteLove you all!
